Scientific and research activities of the Department are focused on the analysis of kinematics and dynamics of mechanical systems, mathematical modelling of bodies made of hygroscopic anisotropic materials under an external load, temperature and moisture changes, analysis of tribologic properties of plain and roller bearings in machine arrangements, stress and deformation analyses of hygroscopic anisotropic materials under a static or dynamic load, and predictive tribotechnical diagnostics.
Technical documentation, rigid body mechanics, flexible body mechanics, mechanical engineering, thermo mechanics, tribology, modelling and simulation of virtual prototypes, mechanics of robots, and design of machines and constructions are based on the pedagogy of the Department.
